BSM - Crazy Lady

I know some of you know what I mean when I say that it seems that when I am behind the camera, nothing much matters at the time but the subject I am looking at.

After I brought Ella to school one cold, cold day last week (I'm talking -10 degrees), I noticed these frosty snowflakes on top of my garbage bin outside the garage. What would you do? I ran inside, attached my macro lens to the camera, grabbed my tripod and ran back out. I knew once the sun came up and it was time to go get Ella from school, that these little treasures would be gone. What a weird neighbor I must have looked like standing there with my camera and tripod....shooting my garbage bin! You just know that these spiky little snowflakes were not on any one's mind if they saw me. You know they were thinking.....

There's that crazy lady who, while taking pictures of her daughter all the time, is rolling around in the dirt, laying in the middle of the road, hanging upside down from a tree and doing back flips. Now she's staring at her garbage bin?! What's next?

It's thier loss. They didnt get to enjoy the beauty of these fantastic little creations of nature up close like I did.

Winter Wonder Land

I was tickled pink that Stacy made the theme for this week Winter Wonder Land. Being winter in Minnesota, I have a ton of pictures of Ella out in the snow. I recently bought a new hat so that when I take pictures of her, they don't all look the same!

I present to you.....Henry.

In this first shot, Ella was scolding Lulu for getting too close to Henry before he was completed. I just got a kick out of it. I wish you could see her arm and fingers pointing at her telling her to "STAY AWAY!!"

I am not a snow person by any means, but I cant help to be delighted every time Ella is in the snow. The childhood joy she feels when playing in the snow is so infectious....Enough that I actually took her outside myself yesterday. 30 degrees was feeling like a heat wave!

Happy Thursday everyone!

A View From Above

It is so FREAKING cold outside right now...I'm talking -11 degrees at noon today! The snow looks so fresh and inviting, since we just got about 4 1/2 inches yesterday, but we'd freeze to death if we went out to play in it.

Finding things to do in the house is starting to make me crazy.

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

PRAY FOR US! :O)

Winter in Minnesota

Yup, lots of snow. Its actually snowing as I type this. Its been cold, but in between the below zero days, come a few teens and low twenty's that make it bearable to for a 3 year old to play outside. Not that Ella really cares how cold it is outside. As long as she is "bungled up" and promised hot cocoa afterwards, she is good to go.

We have a slight slant in our backyard....slight enough for a 30 lb little girl to actually go sledding on. And what a trooper carrying the sled back up. Oh ya, Daddy so makes her work for it. Do you remember having to climb the biggest hill ever just to go down it one more time? They did that the other day too. Mommy had a day off and Daddy and Ella went to a really big hill to go sledding on. I was told they both had a wonderful time.

Here's my little trooper enjoying the season.

My Snow Baby

It has been so dang cold here in the last couple of days. I am talking' like -5 degrees of a high one day. We have also had a steady fall of light snow that has managed to stick around. Before it got too cold out, Keith and Ella spent some time outside enjoying the winter.

Ella is like our dog. She sees snow and she gets so excited. All she wants to do is get out there and pounce around and kick snow in the air. She helps Keith shovel the walkway and makes snow angels with a smile on her face the whole time.....Full of snoogies running out if her nose and everything!
