Breakfast Creation

Long time, no blog. It feels like I have only picked up my camera a handful of times in the last few weeks too...but ask me what I've been up to and I honestly don't even remember. Seriously, not much.

We are heading to Florida on Saturday for the week. I am really looking forward to being with my family and being there for my grandmother's 80th birthday. I send her pictures a few times a year and we were able to get down to Florida last year, which was wonderful. She and Ella both talk alot. They get along great! :0)

Life is full of it with a 4 year old. I inconveniently forget that she knows everything. Jeez how life would be so much easier if I would just get that through my scull. But my goodness, do I love that little brain of hers.

The night before....

Ella: "Mommy, maybe when we get up in the morning I can make my Ella's Special Creation for breakfast?"

Me: "What is that?"

Ella: "It is 5 jellybeans, 2 M&M's and a pancake all mixed together. And then maybe you can help me cook it in the oven because it would be too hot for me to do."

Me: "Sounds good. Remind me in the morning and we will do that.

The next morning....

She got her 5 jellybeans (ate about 10 more in the process) and 2 M&M's. I made a pancake for her and she mixed it all together with some syrup.



She was hesitant. She checked it out for a bit because the jellybeans and M&M's were all melted.


Ella: "I don't really like the jellybeans anymore."


Me: "Maybe next time we should put more M&M's in and less jellybeans."

Ella: "Ya. Maybe next time we shouldn't add any jellybeans or pancakes. Just M&M's and syrup. That would be good."

BSM - I'm Watching You

We have been enjoying our bird feeder this season with many wonderful visitors from Robins, Cardinals and yellow Finches. As a matter of fact, we had a Robin family under our deck and a Cardinal family in a tree near our deck and both of the family's have been daily visitors of our bird feeder, babies and all. Ella gets so excited and when birds visit it she quietly whispers to me to hurry up and come see "Big Daddy Cardinal" on the deck.

Today though....the squirrel found the bird feeder. Four times he came back and four times we were eye to eye. He just stared at me as I slowly opened the screen door and took pictures of him. No fear! That little guy had no fear! I truly think I saw a bit of attitude in his glare too.

Well let me tell YOU Mr. Squirrel (as I put my hand on my hip and roll my head), I'm watching you, and you had better not come all up in my sh*t and act like you own the place! I'm way more partial to the birds than I am you....So you best step away from that bird feeder if you know whats good for you. Maybe if you are nice to me I will hang a peanut butter ball or something from a tree in the woods for you. This Mama just aint havin' it......

My 4 year old gives me enough attitude to last a life time. *sigh*

A Little Sporatic 'round These Parts

I haven't posted much here in the last couple of weeks. I didn't realize how little time I have spent actually on the computer. In the times that Ella is occupied, I find myself either doing some work, making the most out of the beautiful weather, or wanting to take a nap. I haven't shot much lately either. I am hoping once I stop going into the office at the end of July, that I will feel like I have more time to myself. I have been so lucky though to be working these extra hours while my friend is on maternity leave. I am looking forward to working with her for a few days before I stop going into the office too.




After waiting 3-4 weeks for my carpet to come in for my bedroom, we finally got it installed yesterday and set up our new KING size bed. OMG how I love the size of my king size bed! Coincidentally, Ella was having nightmares last night so she jumped into bed with us and we had SO much room. I wasn't half hung over the edge of the bed. Whats even better though is that she woke up about an hour later and decided to go back to her bed. Love ya babes, but more room for me! :0)




So, for the readers that I have, sorry it's been so slow. Hope you stick around though. Once the dust clears, I am looking forward to picking up the camera again. In the meantime, 2 out of 3 isnt bad.....Enjoying the weather and taking naps sounds good to me! :0)
