The Colors of the Season

We planted this tree in our front yard 9 years ago when we built our house. It was one of those things where we had to take many trees down to build and 'by building code' we had to plant one in the front yard so many feet away from the curb. The tree meant nothing. It was just something we had to do.

But through the years, this tree has grown into a strong and beautiful tree that I have fallen in love with. Hubby and I sometimes look at this tree and are amazed at how big it has grown in the time we have been here. We can picture Ella climbing it in the years to come. Every year, its leaves turn to show the brilliant colors of fall. Our neighbors have a tree just the same in their front yard (they had lived here a couple of years before we moved in) and it is still so petite and fragile looking. It is also still green! I don't know how it happens.

Thankfully, it was a delightfully sunny day today and now that Fall is upon us, it is hard NOT to notice just how beautiful nature really is.

What a beautiful tree! Oh, I love the colors of the season right now. Unfortunately we don't have trees quite that colorful in our yard, but luckily there are plenty near us.

Oh, I'm so jealous of your gorgeous fall colors...we don't get nearly enough of the organgy goodness of fall colors around here!

Wow! Look at that perfectly coiffed tree! It's gorgeous. And I love the way Ella is dressed too. :)

that is one heck of a tree! Those colors are gorgeous - I miss them, living in the south. I hadn't known you built your house!
