A Day on the Farm, Part 1

As I mentioned before, My mom and I took Ella for a hayride last week. Included was the hayride, alot of animals, a horse ride, a hay maze and a pumpkin. We had a wonderful morning.

I gotta tell ya, I don't think I ever enjoyed Fall before as I have this season. The colors seem so much more vibrant than ever before and Ella has enjoyed every second of playing in the brisk weather, frolicking in the leaves, hugging her pumpkin as if it is a baby and telling everyone that the leaves are going to fall just before the snow comes. It must be the age. And I must not have ever seen the season through the eyes of my child as I have this year.

I was so hoping Ella would get on that horse. And she did, without hesitation. Before the ride was over, she was blowing kisses and waving as if she was the princess of the parade.

The Teacher - BSM

I brought Ella for a hayride last week. It was such a fun experience watching her be on a farm and interacting with all the different animals. They had pigs, ducks, kittens, horses, sheep, homing pigeons....Anything you could think of.

This little girl was in our group and Ella just clung to her. As I was taking this picture, I heard her say, "Little girl, let me teach you about the horses."

The Colors of the Season

We planted this tree in our front yard 9 years ago when we built our house. It was one of those things where we had to take many trees down to build and 'by building code' we had to plant one in the front yard so many feet away from the curb. The tree meant nothing. It was just something we had to do.

But through the years, this tree has grown into a strong and beautiful tree that I have fallen in love with. Hubby and I sometimes look at this tree and are amazed at how big it has grown in the time we have been here. We can picture Ella climbing it in the years to come. Every year, its leaves turn to show the brilliant colors of fall. Our neighbors have a tree just the same in their front yard (they had lived here a couple of years before we moved in) and it is still so petite and fragile looking. It is also still green! I don't know how it happens.

Thankfully, it was a delightfully sunny day today and now that Fall is upon us, it is hard NOT to notice just how beautiful nature really is.

My Hand At Sunflare

After seeing Stacy's tutorial on sunflares, I thought I would give it a try. I love the tutorials everyone does because it gives me confidence to go out and try it myself. Step by steps make it sound so easy!

It had been raining here for a few days and there was no sun....until this morning. Ella told me to come look at the sunrise and it was so beautiful. We live down a hill from a school and every morning when the sun comes up, it comes from the school and drapes down our road into our yard. With the shadows from the trees, it is very dramatic and a wonderful sight to wake up to.

Freeze Baby

It is starting to get really brisk in our part of the country now. Fall is setting in, and although I prefer summer, I have to admit that I am enjoying these crisp and sunny Autumn days.

Ella wanted to hang out on the deck last night while hubby was grilling hamburgers. He put on her little sweater and once he zippered her up and put her hoodie on, I could not resist taking pictures of her face. Besides thinking that my child has the most beautiful face, I have always been into faces. They are one of my favorite things to photograph....Especially hers!

You might notice that I use my 55-200mm lens all the time (I really need to get more diverse and buy a new one....someday). I just love to zoom in on things. There is so much to inspect in a close up photo. I could find something different and new each time I look. So, I hope I am not boring you by using the same lens all the time. :)

I saved two of my favorite photos from this group to use for Best Shot Monday. So if you liked these, please be sure to stop back and see my best shots on Monday!

Smores....The Easy Way Out

What do you do when your too lazy to start a fire but would love to see that joyous smile on your little girls face for giving her something ooey, gooey and chocolaty to eat. A special little treat for eating all of her dinner like a big girl.

SMORES...ON THE BAR-B!
